PrEP trial update
Over 1900 people have already enrolled on the pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) Impact trial across over 35 clinics around England according to an update from Public Health England (PHE) and NHS England (NHSE).
Most sexual health clinics are expected to take part in the HIV prophylaxis trial, so people will be able to enrol at a local clinic when it’s ready, say PHE and NHSE.
In order to avoid people travelling long distances to access PrEP, they are currently working with clinics and community groups to ensure everyone has the latest information on the trial and is aware that clinics across the country will be opening soon.
An up-to-date list of participating clinics can be found on the trial website (www.prepimpacttrial.org.uk).
The board overseeing the trial is looking at how it can raise awareness of the trial in groups other than gay and bisexual men in order to ensure that as diverse a range of participants can be recruited to the trial as possible.
