TV support for Project 84
ITV’s This Morning programme is championing the campaign for greater recognition and action against male suicide. 84 figures have been placed on the TV building roof to represent the 84 men a week who kill themselves.
Project 84 is driven by Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) which is leading the movement against male suicide in the UK. Suicide continues to be the single biggest killer of men under 45, with three in four of all suicides being male.
The campaign is calling for a government minister to take on official responsibility for suicide prevention and bereavement support in men and a petition is collecting signatures. More information can be found on the CALM website at www.thecalmzone.net.
